From April, consumers will be able to enter the batch code from their bottle’s label into a special field on the product page of Bruichladdich’s website to gain access to the full cask breakdown of the expression. The information will include details of the number of casks of each type used, the vintage, the spirit type, the cask type and bottling date.

Als eigenaar van de fles kan je de batch code van deze fles op de website ingeven voor een breakdown of the Laddie.
En dan krijg je het recept can wat erin je fles zit.

Final announcement of the day...we may not (yet!) have succeeded in effecting a change in industry regulations through our Scotch Whisky Transparency campaign but following legal advice we are pleased to announce that we have found a workaround that allows us to achieve our primary goal – getting complete, clear and unbiased information into the hands of the people who are actively seeking it.

The legal advice we received is clear: while we must not actively promote the ages of the components used in our blends, we can provide information when we are asked for it by interested consumers.

So starting with our Limited Editions ‘Three Year Old Deluxe’ and ‘Spice Tree Extravaganza’ today and extending to our full range of whiskies from 1st November, we are simply asking interested consumers to get in touch with us by calling our office, emailing us, contacting us on social media or speaking to us at events. The information is there, we’ll do all we can within the current regulations to share it with you – all you need to do is ask.

Dat lijkt een beetje op het proeven bij een Slijter.
Een slijter mag niet actief in de winkel iets te proeven/drinken aanbieden...
...maar hij hoeft geen nee te verkopen als je er om vraagt.

Als ik lieg, dan lieg ik in commissie, maar zo is het mij eens uitgelegd.

Op zich wel omslachtig, maar als maar genoeg mensen vragen is er misschien ook weer een mogelijkheid om aan te tonen dat er wens/animo voor is om die informatie te delen.

En toch blijf ik dit met bovengemiddelde interesse volgen / mooi vinden. Zonder rebelse figuren die tegen de stroom in varen komt er nooit verandering!

Klopt ja. Maar het is een nogal grijs gebied. Bij mijn broertje staat er een wijnvat, met daarop allemaal open flessen, vrij prominent schuin tegenover de kassa. Op alle flessen heel groot 'Proefexemplaar, niet voor verkoop'. Daarnaast allemaal kleine plastic glaasjes.
Maar klanten die ernaar kijken wordt nog wel gevraagd of ze wat willen proeven, mensen zijn hier gelukkig nog niet zo onbeschoft om zichzelf meteen te bedienen.
