Over 115 years after it was first opened the Dallas Dhu distillery is looking set to go back into production – having stopped serving whisky connoisseurs when Scottish Malt Distillers closed production in 1983.
Reopened 12 years ago as a museum of malt whisky production and operated by Historic Scotland, thousands of visitors continued to be drawn to the historic distillery. Now it has been revealed that an expert survey on the site has been ordered – with real hopes that it might be used for its original purpose once more.
