Ik kwam dit vanochtend tegen op whiskyintelligence. Heel erg interessant verhaal, maar gezien de datum van vandaag vertrouw ik het niet zo

?We are very proud to announce that after months of keeping an incredible discovery under wraps we can finally reveal it to the world.

With the spirit remaining in the wood for over 500 years it is therefore not only the first matured spirit on record, but also most definitely a single malt whisky, beating the SWA minimum by at least 497 years.
The flask was flown back attached to the wrist of Richard Paterson (an expert in this kind of transport), and has now been replaced in the crook of John Cor’s arm. The tomb has been reburied, ready for subsequent generations to excitedly find in the future.
The spirit inside has been blended from Sukhinder’s bottle archive, using an array of malts from the late 18th century to the present day, including samples of several spirits that are almost certainly not Malt Mill.
What’s more, years of foundation or any other dates that wouldn’t be actual vintages will be prohibited on labels, while the display of average ages instead of minimum ages or no age statement at all will be made mandatory. In case a whisky was filled into a wine cask, the proportion of wine remaining or poured into the cask prior to filling will have to be stipulated in percentages. When more than 4.99%, the spirit will lose the ‘Scotch Whisky’ appellation and will be labelled as ‘Winsky’ instead, except if the wine was Scottish. In the latter case, the bottlers could use “Scotch Winsky’
Really exciting news. Having moved last year to a private house in the village of the Estate of the 13th Earl of Dalriada, I came home yesterday to find a large black Jaguar outside my door and out-stepped the Earl. Turns out he is a huge whisky fan and actually has my books etc etc. Well, the long and the short of it is that he has for some time been planning a distillery on his large Lowland estate but wanted the right person to take the venture on. He found out that I was living in the area from the hotel that stocks my whiskies. We should be finished building one year from today and the distillery, aimed at producing a Highland/Islay style whisky with a capacity of 3 million litres made exclusively for single malt bottlings. All single cask bottlings will be bottled under the label 'Stirk's Choice' - this will include private cask sales; private casks will begin being sold after 3 years, so it will be whisky, and will start at around £9,000/octave. The only rule being that I will have the final say on every cask bottled and if I think it is crap then it must not be bottled.
These regulations are effective, immediately from this morning. It will be really interesting seeing which distilleries / bottlers will be the first to release whiskies in 2013 that will adhere to these laws. Exciting times, surely.
