Ik wilde vragen of iemand weet wie er achter deze Independent Bottler zit.
Inmiddels gevonden dus plaats ik het hier ook maar.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company
That Boutique-y Whisky Company was formed to bring forgotten drams from some of the world's best distilleries to the whisky-craving masses. Often taken from miniscule parcels of forgotten stock / lost casks, none of the bottles carry an age statement.
All labels are hand-illustrated and designed with a nod towards whimsicality, often incorporating whisky industry 'in-jokes'.
Ik vind het aanbod maar bij een paar UK shops, vooral Master of Malt maar ook Abbey Whisky, Selfridges & Co,... dat wordt hierdoor duidelijk:
Whisky For EveryoneThat Boutique-y Whisky Company is a new(ish) independent bottling venture from the innovative online retailer Master of Malt. The first batch of four whiskies were released back in September 2012, with two further batches following since. The concept behind the bottlings is to release a set of bespoke whiskies without age statements and the restrictions of being a single cask. Each whisky is constructed from a selection of casks and then bottled at whatever the natural cask strength is. The
50cl bottles also feature a series of eye-catching cult comic book style labels which feature people from around the whisky world or stories connected to the featured distillery.

Ik was bij de lancering van deze lijn in een masterclass op Maltstock vorig jaar. Daar werd verteld dat het hier o.a. gaat om bottelingen die niet verkocht raken in de Masters of Malt shop. Deze flessen maken ze open, blenden ze door elkaar en bottelen ze opnieuw onder deze naam.

Ja, maar ze kopen ook specifiek vaten hiervoor. De algehele indruk die ik kreeg was dat het voornamelijk een manier was om van oude voorraad af te komen. Dan hoeft het natuurlijk nog niet slechte voorraad te zijn!

Ziet er wel heel leuk uit. Zeker alleen in hun eigen shop te koop?

Ik heb ze nog niet in NL of BE gezien.

Hey,
Mijn lokale "dealer" heeft flessen van de volgende bottelaar op de plank;
That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
Deze bottelaar en zijn expressies lijken hier nog niet besproken.
Ondanks dat de labels een verzamel object genoemd worden zijn er een aantal nice-price
* uitvoeringen bij.
Iemand enig ervaring hiermee, voordat ik verder op het wereld wijde web ga zoeken?
* Let op; het zijn flesjes van 50cl, en nice-price definieert ieder voor zichzelf uiteraard.
